Welcome to the company web site of SC Waste Management Limited, a small family run environmental consulting business which was incorporated as a limited company in Scotland on 14th January 2003. The company had been operating as a partnership from August 2002 and although it had carried out a contract for United Nations Environment Programme in Afghanistan the partners felt that in order to optimise business potential, particularly in the international arena, the company should be incorporated.
The company has since 2002 operated in a niche marketplace both domestically and internationally providing specialist expertise either directly to companies or organisations or on a sub-consultancy basis to larger consulting firms.
The company has carried out a broad range of works in the environment sector however through no particular plan or design it has been most active in the field of solid waste management with a particular sub sector focus on the healthcare waste management sector.
The company operates in partnership with both the state and private sectors with a majority of the business coming from the aid funded international development sector. The company operates on a global basis and international business accounts for around 90% of the company's annual turnover.
The company realised that there was a need to offer suitable vocational training in the waste management sector as part of its portfolio. In this regard the Directors decided in November 2010 to establish a new company Trust Waste Management Limited to give a corporate identity to a new Scottish Qualification Authority and Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board vocational training centre for the waste management industry. The new company took over an existing training centre then operated as a sole trading concern the North of Scotland SQA/WAMITAB Centre.
