Market Research and Feasibility Study
undertaken in Croatia
30/08/09
Julie Crossett and Scott Crossett spent several weeks both in Scotland and in Croatia undertaking the studies and the completed studies were submitted to BCC in August. The proposal was to establish a woodland wildlife reserve in the region and to focus attention on the plight of European Carnivores past and present.
The study addressed the feasibility of establishing an ecotourism centre in the Lika-Senj region of Croatia and they were assisted in the task by the Commercial section of the British Embassy in Zagreb. The study addressed issues of legislation, wildlife importation, forestry concessions, economic incentives, land ownership issues, transport infrastructure and tourism trends in general within the region, country and wider Balkan Peninsula. In the course of the study they visited similar facilities throughout South East Europe and also in both France and Scotland.
